Title: IFA 2020 Story: IFA next - Part 2 Date: 05.09.2020 Location: IFA Berlin, Germany Duration: 27:42 Shotlist 00:00 - Several impressions of deep electronics booth 02:05 - Interview with Stefan Sube, CoFounder & CEO, deep electronics GmbH 02:08 - "For us, to be here on IFA Next ist to bring the brand in the world to the people, to show our new product, to give them the possibility to try it, because its very important, to test it. Mostly the people cannot imagine how it works and how it feels, and how good the effect is to feel the bus from entertainment." 02:36 - "What we created: We call it a wearable subwoofer, you wear it around the neck as you can see, and we took the audio signal from any entertainment, from music, from movie, and we translate it to the deep frequency vibration, so you have the similar effect, you know, you know, if you are in club in front of the bass box, you feel the bus in your upper body. And its very nice." 03:09 - "The benefit is: Its completely silent. Nobody else can hear it, just the user can feel bass, so for people they live in small apartments in big cities don’t want disturb neighbors or family, they can use it to be silent, but the fun is the most important thing." 03:36 - "It’s developed for every people, and every people really means every people, also deaf people can use it, of course they watch movies with subtitle, they play games, and now they have the feedback from this entertainment, and that’s pretty cool, and for all other people, normally hearing people, they have fun with the entertainment, you dive in more, for example, while you game, you feel everything around you, shuts, explosions, every deep frequencies that comes out of the game." 04:18 - "In the further future, we want develop separate products especially for gamers, we have four vibration pads around the neck, so we can drive every vibration pad separately, now we are just stereo, and for the music enthusiastic people we want a version with two wireless in ear combination, so that is the future we see." 04:53 - Several impressions of ebb sleep booth 06:57 - Interview with Sian Hannah, Director, ebb sleep 07:00 - "Ebb therapeutics are renowned for having a product that cures clinical insomnia. So they had a medical device in the US that was FDA - approved, and the technology is around cooling your head. So one of the main disorders is racing mind syndrom while your brain is thinking about too many things before you go to sleep. So the clinical data shows if you cool your brain between 15 and 19 degrees, they will stop the racing mind syndrome. So historically there was a large medical device that was used in hospitals given out to prescription in the US, and this is a new consumer version. So much lighter, much smaller, a better form factor, so that we can use it at home. And it can treats insomnia, sleep disorders, its also used for military veterans, for PTSD, children with ADHD, so a whole variety of issues around sleep, calms, anxiety, things like that. And you just need to wear it on your head, there is a little controller, and it cools your brain down and helps you calm and sleep better." 08:03 - "This product launched in the US one week ago, and is launching in Europe in the next two weeks, so we came to IFA Next to show our new innovation and to meet as many people as you can, and actually the product has done very well in these difficult times in Logdown, you know people has more anxiety issues, so we were really happy to come here, meet as many consumers as we can, and retailers and distributors and journalists, so it was important for us to come to IFA next and be present here." 08:29 - Several impressions of SHIFT booth 10:50 - Interview with Carsten Waldeck, Founder / CEO, SHIFT GmbH 10:53 - "This Time is a little different, and its special, but its good to be here with people, even though we most of the times wear masks and things like that, but its good, to meet people again, and be here in Berlin again and also for us it has quite a few advantages. Because normally you know at IFA amazingly big brands are in the focus of press and others. And now actually with the focus of IFA Next we get quite a bit more attention. So its even better, than all the years before. And for us also the digital world has an importance. So one thing is the physical, but also you know the media, the press, and yes, it has increased quite a bit like much more interviews that time and many more things have been broadcasted about shift." 11:52 - "So we Shift are little different, we are a social business, and we are 100 Percent social business, that means that no profit will ever go to any private person, investor or something like that. All the money and all the resources we have will go towards sustainability and social justice projects that we have in our hearts and helping others were we think its most needed." 12:23 - "The shift phone is the most modular phone ever built, now on this IFA we have this SHIFT6mq, this model here, and this is a really high end model. So it has dual camera, has a really big battery, it has an 800 series snapdragon processor, so its really high end. And still its completely modulate, fully modular. You can repair it, you can get spare parts like all the shift phones that we’ve done before, but its a big step forward now in performance, in design, and all of this, and for us that’s really important, because you know one thing is being sustainable and doing something good for the planet, but in order for people to be able to really fall in love with a product, it has to be a very good product, a very beautiful product and it has to work very well. So we put a lot of love in the product and we were really proud to show this device having a 800 series processor in it, its not easy to do, and it was hard work, but now is the time." 13:38 - "Actually we feel as a brand that a shift is happing. We have this saying „Shift happens“ and this is really something we feel with the people. So a few years ago there was just a few very crazy about sustainability, and really finding us. And now it becomes more and more, like we’re growing exponentially right now, and that has also do a lot with people becoming more and more aware of you know how we treat the planet. Of the whole climate crises thing, but also people maybe think a litte more about what does really make me happy. What fills my heart. Its not just you know money and power and you know markets and whatever, it is also a lot having time with right people. Doing things that fullfill you. And they make you really happy from the inside. And then you don’t need all those outside-things that much. And that’s something that’s growing quite a bit and we are happy about it because that’s been something that we have been looking forward to trying to encourage people to do just that." 14:51 - "Next for shift is one thing, also a product that we demonstrate here which is the SHIFT 13mi, it is a detachable notebook, or tablet if you want, with a very nice keyboard, backlit mechanical keyboard that has 10 finger multi-touch on the keyboard. We do that with some friends of ours and we’re really looking forward to this product to come out and it's completely modular. Its the most modular detachable notebook ever built and that's really important in our time stands because more and more you know Laptops are being soldered together like the memories even soldered on it you can't change the storage that's horrible because if something happens to a data you can take out your hard drive and try to save your data and than lots of disadvantages and that. So we go back two more reparability, more modularity being able a freedom change things again like with our phones now this gets to the laptop tablet market and that’s is just an intermediate step because the really next thing for us is as we already introduced universal computing. And universal computing means that all those gaps that were there in technology between a smartphone and a tablet, laptop, desktop whatever glasses we try to eliminate all together. There's no gap anymore and one thing that we do and we look forward to it is we built a smartphone that can run anything. So it can run different operating systems and it can run desktop experience so you can connect big screens to it, you can collect all you have like your old world, but it's all on your phone. And the phone is faster than most of the laptops nowadays. And we think that's a big step also for sustainability because then everything just works together you don't need to throw away products just because you know the driver is not there anymore you know you can't use it because the connector is not supported or whenever so it's just wireless and type C, a type C USB cable which we think is amazing step forward and yeah we only have type C cables now the the small ones and the wireless connection, all other cables are gone, and it becomes very clear and simple and yeah just tidying up to space before the next big thing is going to happen wich is the glasses. And we have lots of ideas about glasses, how this world is gonna look like when you have really good things. I'm not talking about Hololence and that kind of things are Google glass. I’m talking about a new way of doing things. We’ve had those ideas for years in our drawer and soon it's time to get them out. And this is the next big thing for technology in my eyes so next big thing after the smartphone which we also were quite a bit involved in inventing it's doing all of this, yeah and that is a big step and but more than this more than this technology step for us it's important that you know our hearts get forward and get healed, and we know what we live for and what really makes us happy because then we can be a better citizen on this planet basically, we can treat the Planet with respect and with love and other people too, so we don't need to fight against each other and that's very important it's a new way of economy even so this planet is going to change, and this is why we say SHIFT happens, and we want o be a part of you know this technology shift also being part of of the big shift in society, politics, economy and mainly our hearts, because all shifts and all changes begin in a heart and in the person themselves and that is the biggest change." 19:23 - impressions of SHIFT notebook 21:40 - Several impressions of Otonohm booth 22:38 - Interview with Christophe Piquemal, CEO, Otonohm 22:41 - "This is the third time we came to IFA and its very important for us to be here just to show what we are proposing. This is new technology and we would like to meet of course customers and also distributors for the German Market and not only the German Market." 23:02 - "This year we propose a knew technology of battery, which is very trendy, because with our technology for each kw we restore with the battery we lower the carbon footprint of 30 %. Why we do that? Its because we found a way to remove from the battery all conventional device. We don’t need any longer a charge a battery, and also we don’t need any longer an inverter or a converter to provide energy from the battery. It means that we save 20 percent when we charge the battery of electricity, and we save also 20 % when we restore the energy in jackhammer for instance. So at the end it’s more or less 30 % of energy saved, so 30% of carbon footprint saved." 23:57 - "For the customer it's very easy to handle, you don’t need to take petrol or diesel with you just to pour at your generator set. You could use it inside a building very easily, no pollution, no noise. It’s more in the air now, we no longer have the right to use fuel or diesel generators, because it’s not good for the planet." 24:33 - "This technology, we launched this product this year in france and some countries of europe, germany as well. With a big series at the beginning of next year. We hope, that a lot of people will take this technology instead of using diesel generators." 24:59 - several impressions of IFA next hall 27:42 - END
